On its website it is described as “The comprehensive CMS for small to medium sized businesses and non-profits”. As I said earlier in the post, Backdrop CMS is a fork of the very powerful and popular Drupal. It is a fork of the 7th version, Drupal 7. The white house chose to use Drupal for their official website, which must have been a great honor and a great testament to it's functionality and stability.

Developed by Mark Otto and Jacob Thornton at Twitter as a framework On its website, bootstrap is described as “...is an open source toolkit for developing with HTML, CSS, and JS”. It makes many of the things just so much easier to do. It provides a grid system as well as a jumbotron, carousel and much, much more.
